A fun weekend!

Happy Friday y'all! Another speeding week....full of long days and and ending in a short week! I can't believe how quickly time seems to be flying by as of late.....or perhaps this whole year.....I think collectively we are all feeling it.....so many people talking about it at work too, even the young teachers so it isn't an old folks thing lol The kids go to their dad's this weekend.....a challenge for me normally, because I miss them and always want them with me....... but more so during the holidays.....I have to be more intentional about planning our holiday revelry on the weekends that I have them....which I try and do. And I lost last weekend due them recovering from being sick, so I need to maximize next weekend with them for sure.....I have some plans up my sleeve;-) I am also keenly aware of the Santa days coming to a close with Mads.....I am hoping I get a few more years, Amen:) And Gabe will believe all of his days.....so perhaps Santa will always live in our home, I am hoping on that:) So I had some plans come together this weekend in sort of random means, so I think I will do some adult holiday things too! Tomorrow I need to Christmas shop....that may be the only perk in divorce and sharing kids, I am able to shop and wrap so much easier than in my old life.....and this year they will have them the weekend of Christmas so that last Saturday can be used for whatever I will need to pull it all together lol:) I feel more behind this year than ever! So shopping I will do! Then a friend invited me to an adult pajama event out in town, out and about:) So I may go for a little bit and have some adult holiday revelry. Then church on Sunday morning, and then off to the PASS fundraising holiday pub crawl in town for a good cause......that should be fun too! Sometimes it is challenging for me to resist just staying in when the kids are gone and doing my thing....basking in the solitude......and there is room for that sometimes.....and I do do that when I am in need of that kind of time for myself.....but I think I will make an effort to get out into the world this weekend and see what I see.....:) I am grateful for all the pockets of people I have in my life....I am blessed with a good amount of really great friends.....from different walks of my life....and I am glad to be able to do stuff with them when I am able....one of my friends and I were talking about checking out some speed dating in the new year....there are some events in NJ.....I have married friends and single friends pretty equally now and it helps.......helps to have people to ride shotgun in the single life...."wingwomaning" each other lol:) Not sure what pajamas one wears to a bar lol but I will figure it out! And I get to wear a holiday outfit to the crawl on Sunday so that is fun, and hang with people I love! I hope whatever you have on tap it is fun and nourishes ya! Enjoy the day:)
