I had a woman reach out last week on behalf of her son, he is going through a divorce, and she asked me if I work with men.....and it sort of stopped me in my tracks a little, but I quickly said yes!:) I have never closed off my coaching to men, and awhile back a man had reached out, and we had started to work out a potential plan, but then his life got busy and it never materialized.....so I have been open all along to working with men as well as women....I just haven't done too much of that.....it has been mostly women that have found their way to me....and I thought about that too....I think perhaps that is collectively a trend...women feeling more comfortable at reaching out for help, and support, or wanting to vs men......maybe that whole "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus," which by the way suddenly makes more sense to me these days.....lol:) But I digress.....it may just be our differences and our social norms.....having it be more socially acceptable or maybe acceptable isn't even the word......just socially a thing, and more pervasive for women to seek those kinds of things.....therapy.....coaching,......etc......and I think that is a shame....I think we need to do better perhaps as a society, and world, at encouraging those things for all people.....so he reached out and we had a free consultation by phone yesterday afternoon and it was so interesting to experience the difference.....and I can see how much I could learn in the process of expanding my business and audience.....so I am not sure if he will continue coaching with me.....but we will see.....and even in the consultation there was learning and perspective to be had......so on Saturday I did my video on the fact that I do work with men also......in case that wasn't as clear as it should have been.....I believe coaching is a wonderful vehicle for change....a beautiful place for people to truly hear themselves amid the noise in the world, particularly at the moment.....and giving them room to hear their inner wisdom, and offer the accountability and support to utilize those things to move them forward toward whatever it is they want to achieve.....and I think that is so important.....so perhaps this brings some new clientele and expertise my way....learning ways to be able to reach and support whoever I end up working with in the new year....and I am excited for whatever unfolds! Happy Monday:)
Do you work with men?
