The final piece!

I have so enjoyed my wellness coach role in Dr. Pathak's weight loss clinic and witnessing the brave journeys of her patients choosing to reclaim their health! And part of my role is to attend a monthly meeting, and at each meeting one healthy goal is tackled, and then they become cumulative. Moving everybody to a healthier life. And in between I witness their progress in the FB page I manage coaching wise, and I just love it! So last night there was another meeting tackling nutrition! And in the course of my life I have always been interested in that topic, and have had periods where I have had tons of discipline there too.....lots of food prepping, and preparing, and mindful eating......and since my exercise has been so cemented in, I have found my diet can have some leeway.....and that isn't such a good thing lol;-) and while during the school year I still prep lots of things and eat more mindfully, during the summer and the last few months of school it has been a free for all lol:) And so being in that meeting last night kicked me into gear too, as the new school year approaches, and got me thinking of my weekly food prep routines again.....when I am in my flow I prep lots of salads, and roasted veggies and, chicken, and healthy meals.....and fruits and veggies, and just healthy foods in a grab and go format, to make it more likely to be eaten......food prep really is the key to not getting off track......and not wasting food, and spending two hours on Sunday sets me up for the week and prevents me from making choices after work that don't serve us, like takeout or drive thru....when we are worn by the day! I suppose as I type this it is why I workout in the morning too......setting myself up ahead of time for success before life takes hold and ruins my plan lol:) So meal prepping is the same idea! Setting you up ahead of time for success.....I learned so much last night too alongside everybody else......they have done autopsies on children after car accidents and found the beginnings of heart disease as early as 3 years old! Yikes! And for sure I know that children's diets can be alarming from teaching....and have felt passionate about that topic for quite sometime and what school cafeterias serve or don't serve.....I had a class one year that I challenged to eat one healthy new thing a week and we would talk about it and they got so excited as they learned more and it was so fun to watch them try and evolve some.....so it got me thinking I may try that again this year too.....kids are like sponges and will take on what they see and live......and learn.....and it is so hard as working moms and dads to keep that nutrition piece sacred, trust me I know and have succumbed to easy and convenient too which often comes in unhealthy foods......so my plan is to revamp our food landscape again.....and solidify this piece for my kids and I......the final pillar in my healthy lifestyle goals.....and really hammer it down! I am so blessed to be having this a part of my business, and when you love what you do you never work a day in your life:) Happy Friday:)
